Description
Seachem Stability is a liquid bacterial additive intended to support biological filtration in freshwater and marine aquariums. The manufacturer describes a blend of aerobic, anaerobic and facultative bacteria involved in processing wastes. This describes the product’s intended role, rather than a guarantee that a new filter is immediately ready. Shake the bottle before use and follow the current label schedule for the situation. The listed capacities and new-aquarium dose are specific to Stability. Seachem instructs users to turn off UV and ozone; its FAQ distinguishes the full dosing period during cycling from the shorter suspension used for additions with new fish or water changes. Completing the seven-day dosing schedule does not prove that cycling has finished. Seachem’s FAQ explicitly acknowledges this and says each tank cycles differently. Continue assessing ammonia, nitrite and the actual filtration system, and follow the directions for any other treatment in use. The additive does not replace evidence that the aquarium can handle its waste load.
