Description

Flourite Black is Seachem's porous clay gravel for planted freshwater aquariums; this entry covers the 7 kg bag. It can be used as the complete bed or mixed with other gravel, without a required laterite layer. Seachem states that it is not chemically coated or treated and does not alter pH. This does not establish that it changes no other water parameter. Select the number of bags using the aquarium footprint and intended bed depth; Seachem's calculator uses these dimensions. The 3.5 kg pack is another quantity of the same gravel. Liquid fertiliser and root tablets can be chosen according to plant growth needs; the product FAQ does not make them mandatory. Rinse residual shipping dust and fill the aquarium gently over a bowl placed on the bed. Initial cloudiness can be removed by mechanical filtration. Seachem also confirms that the gravel retains its physical form when wet and is compatible with an undergravel filter.
