Water Test OCR
Read test strip results from a photo using AI colour matching
Scan a photo of your test strip and colour reference card to automatically read water parameter values.
Related Guide
Take a photo of your test strip and colour card together. The OCR engine samples the strip colours and matches them against the card swatches using perceptual colour distance.
Align the two rectangles on your photo — green for the test strip, blue for the colour card — and the engine does the rest. Review the matched values before applying them to your tank.
FAQ
How accurate is the OCR colour matching?
The engine uses CIE LAB colour distance (Delta E 76) to find the closest swatch on your brand's color card. Accuracy depends on lighting, photo quality, and correct alignment of the strip and card frames.
Which test strip brands are supported?
API 5-in-1, JBL ProAquaTest 6-in-1, and Tetra EasyStrips 6-in-1 are built in. You can also add your own brand using the custom calibration wizard.
Can I enter values manually instead?
Yes. Choose 'Enter values manually' in the scan dialog to type in readings from your test strips.
Where are the results saved?
Values are saved to your tank's measured overrides and used by the blueprint compatibility engine.
