Description

The Fluval AC50 is a hang-on-back filter, item 19610, rated for 20-50 US gallons (76-190 litres). This record covers the newer AC Series model and uses its 120 V, 60 Hz specifications: 7 W, maximum flow of 200 US GPH (757 L/h), and a body measuring 18.4 x 11.1 x 16.3 cm. The 230-240 V, 50 Hz version is separately rated at 5 W; select the electrical version for your supply. The filter provides pre-filtration, mechanical, chemical and biological stages. It includes an intake sponge, Bio-Foam, activated carbon and BIOMAX. The basket separates the media, so individual inserts can be serviced or replaced without replacing everything together. This is the practical feature behind CycleGuard; it should not be read as a guarantee that every maintenance procedure leaves the nitrogen cycle unaffected. Flow is adjustable, and the refiltration design recirculates water through the chamber when flow is reduced. Use the stated tank-volume range and available installation space when choosing this size. It is listed for freshwater and saltwater aquariums. When ordering parts or media, identify the AC50 generation rather than assuming every component of the older AquaClear 50 is identical.
