Can Almorha loach Live With Zebra loach?

Both profiles point the same way: Botia species do well alongside most other Botia, and these two share a temperament and a habitat. The gap is size and pace. A yoyo reaches 16 cm and is the more assertive of the pair, while a zebra loach stops at 9 and is described as peaceful, though active enough to unsettle much smaller fish itself.

Keep each species in its own group of five or six, preferably ten, because botiids kept in twos and threes let the dominant fish bully the others until they stop eating. Two groups on that scale need the yoyo's tank, a 120 cm base around 243 litres, with sand, smooth rock and enough separate caves for the hierarchy to settle into. Watch the zebra loaches at feeding time, since the larger fish reach food first, and note that both will take snails without being a cure for an infestation.
