Can Guppy Live With Peppered corydoras?

On behaviour this is an easy pairing. Corydoras are among the fish guppies do well with, and peppered cories are peaceful catfish for the smaller community tank that get on with small livebearers. The guppies stay near the surface and the cories forage along the bottom.

The water is the catch. Guppies need pH 7 to 8 and peppered cories pH 6 to 7, so the two meet only at pH 7.0, with a shared temperature of 22 to 26 °C. Neutral water suits both, but there is no room for drift in either direction, so test the pH regularly rather than assuming it holds.

Keep five or more cories, since they turn reclusive and stressed when kept alone, on soft sand rather than rough gravel, which can damage their barbels, and give them 60 to 80 litres. Guppies take food at the surface, so add sinking pellets or frozen bloodworm that reach the cories on the bottom.
