Can Giant danio Live With White cloud mountain minnow?

The white cloud mountain minnow is one of the few community fish that does not want a heater: it is happiest at 14 to 22 °C, cool room temperature in many climates, while the giant danio needs proper tropical heat at 22 to 27 °C. The two ranges only touch at a single degree, not a setting either fish should be asked to live at permanently.

Size adds to it: a giant danio can reach 15 cm, nearly four times the minnow's 4 cm, and a fish that size swimming hard through a school of much smaller company is not gentle even when it is not predatory. pH is the only figure that overlaps comfortably, 6 to 8 for both.

Run the tank at either temperature and one species is out of its range for good. Keep the white cloud mountain minnow unheated with other cool water or subtropical fish, and give the giant danio a properly heated tropical community instead.
