Can Cherry Shrimp Live With White cloud mountain minnow?

This is one of the safer fish and shrimp combinations. The white cloud is exceptionally peaceful, tops out at 4 cm and has a mouth to match, so adult cherry shrimp at 3 cm are in no danger from it. Expect the occasional newly hatched shrimplet to go missing, as with any fish, rather than a colony that cannot grow.

The water suits both at 18 to 22 °C and pH 6.5 to 8, and this is the rare pairing that needs no heater in a normally warm room, since the white cloud prefers it cool.

Keep the minnows in a group of eight or more and give the shrimp moss and dense planting to breed in. Cherry shrimp need moderate GH and KH to rebuild their shells after each molt, so add crushed coral or a mineral supplement if your water is soft; the minnows are indifferent either way. Let the colony establish for a few weeks before the fish go in, and feed lightly enough that the shrimp keep grazing the biofilm they live on.
