Can Cherry Shrimp Live With Rainbow krib?

A krib is not a dedicated shrimp hunter, but it is not a safe tankmate for them either: at 10 cm against a 3 cm cherry shrimp, an opportunistic omnivorous cichlid will take a shrimp it can catch, and a territorial breeding pair patrolling its own patch of substrate makes that more likely, not less.

24 to 27 °C and pH 6.5 to 7.5 suit both, so water gives no reason either way.

A heavily planted tank with dense moss and a decent head start for the shrimp colony, established for several weeks before the kribs go in, gives the population somewhere to hide and a chance to keep breeding despite losses. Do not expect a visible, thriving shrimp colony in the open water: this works as background biomass, not as a display colony, and a keeper who wants the latter should choose a different cichlid or skip the cichlid altogether.
