Can Boeseman's rainbowfish Live With Dwarf rainbowfish?

Both profiles recommend exactly this: other rainbowfish of a similar size. A boeseman at 11 cm and a dwarf rainbowfish at 8 cm both stay well within that range, and mixing rainbowfish species is a common approach, since males display constantly at one another and a second species only adds to the show without adding real aggression.

The shared window is tighter than the size match, 27 to 28 °C and pH 7 to 7.5, set mostly by the boeseman's warmer, harder preference. Hold the tank inside that narrow band rather than splitting the difference toward either species' extreme.

Both are active, skittish shoalers that want six to eight of their own kind or more, so a combined tank needs real swimming room, at least the boeseman's own 110 litre minimum with an open water column and hardy planting at the edges. Feed with live or frozen foods in the rotation for both, since colour and breeding condition depend on it, and expect the two schools to intermix rather than stay strictly separate once settled.
