Can Siamese fighting fish Live With Peppered corydoras?

Peppered cories spend nearly all their time foraging along the bottom, while a betta stays in midwater, so the two rarely compete for space. The peppered cory is a peaceful catfish for the smaller community aquarium, and it will not provoke the betta.

The limit is the betta. It is not recommended for the standard community tank and is best kept alone in most cases, although individual fish sometimes tolerate other species. A group of cories that keeps to its own level is about as gentle a test of that as you can set.

Plan the tank around the cories. They need a group of five or more, soft sand rather than rough gravel, which can damage their barbels, and 60 to 80 litres, more than a single betta needs. The water overlaps at 22 to 26 °C and pH 6 to 7. Cories also dart to the surface now and then for air, so do not crowd the top with floating plants.
