Can Freshwater angelfish Live With Rummy-nose tetra?

Many discus keepers run shoals of rummy-nose tetras in their show tanks. With an angelfish the concern is the one that applies to every small tetra: it may eat small fish such as tetras.

At 5 cm, a rummy-nose is larger than a neon or a cardinal, and it lives in a tight shoal that should be at least ten strong. The water overlaps at 24 to 27 °C and pH 6 to 7.

Rummy-noses do not compete well with boisterous or much larger tankmates, so make sure the shoal is eating and not being crowded away from food by the angelfish.

A biotope-style layout with river sand, driftwood branches and dried leaf litter brings out the best in rummy-noses, and angelfish want tall-leaved plants such as Amazon swords and Vallisneria under dim to moderate light. A planted South American tank covers both.
