Can Freshwater angelfish Live With Guppy?

Guppies are peaceful and angelfish are not fin-nippers, so fin damage is not the worry here. Size and water are. Angelfish may eat small fish, and a 5 cm guppy is small next to a 15 cm angelfish.

The water pulls in different directions. Angelfish prefer soft, slightly acidic water at pH 6 to 7.5, and guppies want pH 7 to 8. The overlap is pH 7 to 7.5 at 24 to 28 °C.

Guppies also give birth to free-swimming fry every 25 to 30 days, and fry are exactly the small fish an angelfish may eat. If you keep both, run the tank at the top of the angelfish's pH range and give the guppies dense, fine-leaved planting. Keep one male guppy to at least two females so the males do not harass the females constantly, and remember that the angelfish sets the tank size: a tall aquarium of at least 200 litres.
