Can Freshwater angelfish Live With Ram cichlid?

The ram's own needs are the reason to skip this one. It is a poor competitor that needs pristine water, and territorial or otherwise aggressive fishes, including most other cichlids, are best kept away from it. The angelfish is a cichlid that turns territorial when it spawns, and at 15 cm it is several times the size of a 4 cm ram.

The water would work. Rams need 27 to 30 °C and pH 4 to 7, which overlaps the angelfish at 27 to 30 °C and pH 6 to 7. The problem is the pairing, not the chemistry.

Better company for a ram is a group of peaceful open-water characins, which seem to reassure it and reduce its shyness, and cardinal tetras are among the species that can manage its warm water. Rams feed by taking mouthfuls of substrate and sifting it, so give them sand and food that reaches the bottom.
