Red Spiralis

Cryptocoryne spiralis 'Red' is a trade form of Cryptocoryne spiralis, a species native to south India and Bangladesh, where it grows in rice paddies. Flowgrow publishes no page for the 'Red' form itself, so the parameter set here is a disclosed assumption assembled from the two parent varieties: the optimum temperature of 23-28 C, pH 5-8 and carbonate hardness of 2-20 dKH follow C. spiralis var. spiralis. The exact origin of the 'Red' strain is unconfirmed. It is a rosette plant that spreads by runners and rhizome division, grows at a medium rate, and reaches around 35 cm; the height is taken from the sibling variety C. spiralis var. caudigera, whose published range is 20-35 cm (var. spiralis prints no height row).
