Nurii

Cryptocoryne nurii is a small, patterned water trumpet from Peninsular Malaysia and the nearby Riau islands of Indonesia, where it grows along forest streams in soft, slightly acidic water. It is uncommon in trade, and the plants that circulate are valued more for their leaf markings than for speed, since this is one of the slowest-growing crypts and reaches barely 10 cm.

Its leaves are narrow and pointed with a muted olive-green colour, and in some forms the blade shows a dark, blotchy pattern. Because Flowgrow has no working page for this species the care figures here are compiled from its natural habitat rather than confirmed cultivation data. It is generally kept in soft water with a pH of 5.5 to 6.5 and temperatures of 20 to 26 °C, with medium light, and CO₂ with a nutrient-rich substrate to coax growth from such a patient plant.

Like most crypts it produces new plants from runners and from plantlets on the rosette. Expect it to sit still for weeks after planting; it rewards keepers who leave it alone.
