Godzilla Buce

Bucephalandra sp. 'Godzilla' is a trade form of the slow-growing Bucephalandra group, kept for its bold, dark leaves and creeping rhizome. Flowgrow documents no page for this particular form, so there is no reference entry behind the card and the figures on it are editorial: 20 to 26 °C, pH 5.5 to 7, medium light and CO₂ enrichment. The plant is typical of Bucephalandra in the aquarium: it attaches to wood or stone rather than being planted in the substrate, it grows very slowly, and it rewards patience with a dense cluster of leaves over many months. The rhizome should never be buried. Like other Bucephalandra it grows well with stable water and gentle flow, and it appreciates a little fertilizer in the water column. It is a demanding plant in the sense that it wants good water quality and consistent conditions rather than a tank that fluctuates. Propagation is by rhizome division.
