Description

ADA sells this as Aqua Soil-Amazonia Ver.2. The "Amazonia II" printed on most shop listings is the same soil. It is made from black soil, chosen partly because the dark grain sets off the leaf colour of aquatic plants, and it ships with Amazonia Supplement included to enrich the nutrient content. The intended way to lay it is in two layers. Spread the Amazonia Supplement evenly across the bottom of the tank, then put the Ver.2 granules on top. ADA lists Power Sand and Power Sand Special alongside it as related items for the base layer, which is the standard Nature Aquarium build rather than an upsell. Read ADA's water-chemistry claims carefully, because the page words them differently for different products. Of the professional-grade Amazonia PRO it says natural soil helps adjust the water to a slightly acidic condition suited to aquatic plants and tropical fish. Of Ver.2 it says only that natural soils make the water quality suitable for plants and tropical fish, that plants grow better when the supplement is laid underneath, and that the tank is easy to keep in its early stage, which is why the company recommends it from beginners through veterans. Three items carry the Ver.2 name: 3 litres (article code 104-061), 9 litres (104-060) and a 3 litre Powder Type (104-063). Amazonia PRO sits beside them in the lineup as a 9 litre bag (104-028). One warning ADA prints on the same page is worth repeating, since this soil is faked: another brand's "Aqua Soil" circulating in Hong Kong is not their product.
