Can Giant danio Live With Zebra danio?

Both are active, fast moving cyprinids from similar water, and the giant danio's tendency to bully is aimed at slow or timid fish rather than fellow danios. Zebra danios keep pace with almost anything and are themselves called suitable company for a wide range of tankmates including other small cyprinids. Neither fish here is the one sitting still.

22 to 25 °C and pH 6 to 8 covers both, and neither is fussy inside that band.

The size gap is real, up to three times the zebra's length once the giant danio is grown, so buy them at a similar starting size if you can and keep the numbers each species wants, 8 to 10 zebra danios and six or more giant danios. A long tank around 150 litres, the giant danio's own recommendation, gives both schools the open swimming room they need; anything smaller and the larger fish's activity starts to crowd the zebras out of open water.
