Can Endlers guppy Live With Guppy?

Keep these two apart. Endler's livebearers and guppies crossbreed, so the two should not share a tank.

Nothing else about the pairing would warn you. The water overlaps at 24 to 28 °C and pH 7 to 8, both fish are peaceful, and they are close in size. The trouble shows once the young grow up. Endler's females drop 5 to 25 fry every 23 to 24 days, the fry can mature in as little as two months, and a mixed tank soon fills with hybrids that are neither one fish nor the other.

Endler's are small enough that a general community is not ideal for them either. Good company is dwarf corydoras, small rainbowfish such as Pseudomugil, and peaceful tetras. Keep several females, since they can be territorial with one another, and add floating plants for the fry, although adults rarely eat their young.
