Can Convict cichlid Live With Oscar?

Both Convict cichlid and Oscar share a comfortable temperature range of 24–28°C (Convict cichlid prefers 24–28°C, Oscar prefers 20–28°C). Their pH ranges overlap well at 6–7.5, so water chemistry is compatible. Convict cichlid has a temperament score of 3 (out of 5), which means it can be territorial or aggressive toward Oscar (score 3). They occupy different water columns (Convict cichlid: bottom, Oscar: middle), which reduces direct competition for space. The size difference is significant: Oscar reaches 35 cm while Convict cichlid reaches only 10 cm, and the larger species may view the smaller one as prey.
