Green Tiger Lotus

The green tiger lotus is the green-leaved cultivar of Nymphaea lotus. Flowgrow indexes it under the cultivar name Nymphaea lotus 'grün' and lists the red sibling form, Nymphaea lotus 'rot', alongside it. The plant grows from a tuber as a rosette, sending up submerged leaves and, when there is room, floating leaves that spread across the surface. For this reason it is placed in the background or midground of larger tanks.

Growth is fast. The optimum temperature is 22 to 28 °C with a pH of 5 to 8, and the plant does not need injected carbon dioxide. Light in the medium to high range suits it, and Flowgrow rates the plant medium difficulty. It propagates by runners and by seeds. Flowgrow does not record whether it can be grown emersed.
