Flamingo

Flowgrow files this pink Cryptocoryne under wendtii and then stops: the description field on its page is an unfilled placeholder. Anything you read about how 'Flamingo' melts, how stable its colour is, or how hard it is to settle in is somebody's experience rather than published data, and this entry does not repeat it.

What the page does publish is a data sheet, and it is friendlier than the plant's reputation. Temperature 22 to 26 °C, pH 5 to 8, carbonate hardness 1 to 18 dKH, light anywhere from low to high, and a carbon dioxide range that starts at 5 mg/l, which is roughly what an aquarium without injection already carries. Flowgrow rates the cultivar easy and slow-growing and lists it for the midground, the foreground, or planting in groups.

This entry has been moved to match the source: easy rather than hard, slow rather than very slow, and CO2 marked optional, since nothing on the page asks for injection. The 10 cm height is our own figure, as Flowgrow publishes no height row. The origin is recorded as a cultivated form whose wild type comes from Sri Lanka, which is what the range row says, and the synonyms Cryptocoryne sp. 'Flamingo' and C. spec. 'Flamingo' are the names you will meet on shop labels.
