Gold Dwarf Anubias

Anubias barteri var. nana 'Gold' is a cultivar of the dwarf Anubias known by the two trade names 'Gold' and 'Golden Heart'; Flowgrow carries it on its cultivar page and lists 'Gold' among the plant's synonyms. The source page has not yet published a full description of the cultivar, so this profile stays close to its catalogue facts: an epiphyte of the creeping-rhizome type, easy and undemanding like the rest of var. nana, growing very slowly to about 10 cm and best attached to rock or driftwood in midground and foreground groups. It tolerates low light well and is a forgiving choice for beginners, and like the wild-type var. nana from Cameroon it is also undemanding about water chemistry. It does best in temperatures of 22 to 26 °C with a pH of 5 to 8 and tolerates quite hard water, with a carbonate hardness range reaching about 21 °dKH. Propagation is by division of the creeping rhizome, as with other Anubias.
