Glabra Anubias

Anubias glabra, also known as Anubias barteri var. glabra, is a West African rhizome plant. The plant ranges from Guinea to Congo, forming dense populations on river banks and on rocks in forest rivulets, where it shares its habitat with Bolbitis heudelotii and Crinum natans. The variety is a collective term for several A. barteri forms with oval to lanceolate leaves, and small plants imported from Cameroon still circulate under the old synonym Anubias minima, while further synonyms include Anubias lanceolata and the trader's name 'Anubias Kruising'. Like var. nana it is undemanding, binding to rock and driftwood as an epiphyte, or set in the substrate with the rhizome left uncovered, and it stays modest at about 10 to 20 cm. Water conditions suit it well in temperatures of 22 to 26 °C with a pH of 5 to 8.
