Spring scissors

Specifications

Description

Spring aquascaping scissors close when the handles are squeezed and reopen under spring action when pressure is released. They allow successive cuts without manually spreading the handles after each cut. Common aquarium uses include trimming moss, cutting individual small leaves and preparing leaves before planting. Compact designs are useful in small aquariums and for detailed work. Tropica’s Spring Scissors are 15 cm long, while ADA Pro-Scissors Spring are 16 cm. Choose for the working distance and the room available around the plant; these examples are specific models, rather than a standard length for every spring pair. For a deeper or larger aquarium, compare the reach of a longer trimming design. Spring action and blade shape are separate choices. Straight and curved spring scissors are both available in the ADA range. Choose a blade orientation that lets you approach the intended cut, and check which variant you are buying. A spring mechanism does not establish that the blades are curved, that every stem can be cut, or that prolonged use will be free of fatigue. Rinse and dry stainless aquascaping tools after use. Freshwater as well as saltwater can leave salts on the metal, and stainless steel can still corrode. Follow the selected model’s care instructions; a stated steel grade does not remove the need for regular care.
