Silent air pump

Description

An aquarium air pump supplies air through airline to a diffuser or an air-powered filter. With a sponge filter, the pump supplies the air that drives water movement; the sponge assembly holds the filtering medium. An air pump can also be used for aquarium aeration. Match the pump’s outlets and air-delivery adjustment to the connected equipment. For example, EHEIM air models provide volume adjustment and a diffuser with a separate bubble-pattern adjustment. Check the selected pump’s connection and accessory requirements rather than assuming every outlet can be left unused. Keep an external air pump dry and securely positioned so it cannot fall into the aquarium. Follow its backflow-prevention instructions: EHEIM specifies a mounting position above the water level, outside the aquarium and away from a position where it can fall in. Arrange the power cord as instructed. “Silent” is a product description, not a shared noise specification. Consider the mounting and vibration-damping design, and assess the installed pump. Check its air filter and diffuser for blockage: EHEIM notes that a clogged diffuser raises counterpressure, reduces air flow and increases diaphragm wear. Follow the model’s maintenance guidance.
