Root tabs

Description

Root fertilisers place nutrients within the aquarium substrate near plant roots. Products include tablets and capsules, with different compositions and release methods. Choose for the plants and substrate you use rather than treating all buried supplements as the same product. Seachem Flourish Tabs is a tablet example inserted into gravel. Tropica Nutrition Capsules is a capsule example placed with tweezers near plants with substantial roots, and includes nitrogen, phosphorus, iron and micro nutrients. Check what is already supplied by the substrate and water-column fertiliser. Follow the selected product’s placement, quantity and replacement directions. A manufacturer’s spacing or release period applies to that product. Tropica notes that resin balls from its capsules can remain after nutrient release, so disappearance is not a universal sign that a buried fertiliser is used up. Root supplementation does not replace reviewing the plant’s complete growing conditions.
