Magnetic glass cleaner

Description

A magnetic aquarium cleaner removes algae from the viewing pane using an inner cleaning part coupled magnetically to an outer handle. Moving the handle guides the cleaning part along the inside surface. Common designs use cleaning pads, plastic scraper blades or a compatible scraper attachment for tougher deposits. Choose for the pane material and actual thickness. Glass and acrylic cleaners can use different pads and blades, so use a combination explicitly approved for the aquarium surface. A metal blade intended for glass should not be transferred to acrylic. Thickness ratings belong to individual models: TUNZE Care Magnet pico covers 3–6 mm glass and nano covers 6–10 mm. Tank volume alone does not establish this fit. Floating models let the inner part rise to the surface if magnetic contact is lost, making retrieval easier. Other designs can sink when separated; check whether flotation is built in or requires an accessory. Also check the space between the pane and nearby decorations so that the inner cleaner can travel along the intended route. Move the cleaner steadily and keep the cleaning edge clear of the substrate. Sand trapped beneath a pad or blade can scratch the pane, including with designs intended to reduce sand trapping. If the inner part falls into the substrate, retrieve it and inspect the contact surfaces before continuing. Check worn blades and pads and replace them as the selected model instructs.
