Macronutrient N/P/K

Description

Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are major nutrients used by aquarium plants. Supplements can provide them together or let you adjust individual nutrients. Choose according to the nutrients already supplied by the aquarium and your existing fertilisers. Check the actual composition. Tropica Specialised Nutrition combines macro and micro nutrients, whereas Seachem offers separate Flourish Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium products. A bottle name or an NPK category does not identify the concentrations or prove that every nutrient is included. Use the product’s directions and relevant measurements to decide what to add. Nitrogen and phosphorus can be reported in different chemical forms, so compare like units and read the label. Adjust to plant uptake and the complete feeding and fertilising arrangement rather than copying a fixed ratio from an aquaculture system.
