Aquarium heater

Description

An aquarium heater supplies heat to maintain the chosen water temperature. Adjustable thermostatic rods combine a heating element, temperature setting and control indicator; submersible designs can be positioned within the aquarium according to their instructions. Choose the actual model from the manufacturer’s aquarium-size guidance and check its voltage, physical length and permitted water level. Place it where water movement distributes heat. Installation rules differ: the EHEIM thermocontrol manual specifies vertical mounting, so submersible construction alone does not establish that horizontal mounting is suitable. Check the water with a thermometer rather than relying only on the setting dial. Keep the heater within its permitted immersion limits and disconnect it before removal, allowing the specified cooling time. Dry-run protection is a feature of particular heaters, including thermocontrol, rather than a substitute for correct water level.
