Floating breeder net

Description

A breeder net creates a small mesh enclosure within an aquarium for holding fish or protecting young fish from direct contact with larger tankmates. Penn-Plax’s Deluxe Net Breeder is an example with a frame that adjusts to the water level. Choose usable space, mesh openings and a mounting method suited to the fish. Check that the net is fitted correctly and that young fish cannot pass through the mesh or gaps around the frame. Water can move through a mesh enclosure, so it remains part of the main aquarium’s water system. Monitor feeding access and the space available to the growing fish. Sera identifies swimming space as a consideration for a rearing container. A mesh enclosure still shares aquarium water; it provides physical separation rather than an independent quarantine system.
