Description
An automatic fish feeder dispenses food at scheduled times. A rotating-drum feeder, such as the EHEIM autofeeder, meters food through an adjustable opening. A compartment-style feeder, such as the Fish Mate F14, holds individual portions for timed delivery. Choose the feeder for the food and portions you actually use. EHEIM specifies dry flakes and granules and excludes live or frozen food; its slider adjusts the dispensing opening. Check the programmed times and delivered portion using the manual-feed control before leaving the tank unattended. Mount the feeder so food falls freely into the aquarium. Follow the selected model’s hood or rim-mounting instructions. Keep the EHEIM drum dry and its rear air intake clear of humid aquarium air, and check the batteries and food supply as part of routine maintenance.
