Both Molly and Green swordtail share a comfortable temperature range of 24–28°C (Molly prefers 24–28°C, Green swordtail prefers 16–28°C). Their pH ranges overlap well at 7.5–8, so water chemistry is compatible. Both species have low aggression scores (Molly: 1, Green swordtail: 1 out of 10), which supports peaceful cohabitation. The size difference is significant: Green swordtail reaches 16 cm while Molly reaches only 7.5 cm, and the larger species may view the smaller one as prey.
