Can Bronze corydoras Live With Sterba's cory?
Compatibility assessment for Bronze corydoras and Sterba's cory
Detailed assessment
Sterba's cory is one of the more heat tolerant Corydoras, kept at 24 to 28 °C, which is why it is a standard choice for warm discus tanks. The bronze runs 22 to 26. They meet at 24 to 26 °C, which is a comfortable setting for both rather than a compromise either has to endure.
Both are peaceful and both are recommended for the same company: small characins, cyprinids, dwarf cichlids and other peaceful catfish. pH 6 to 7.6 covers them.
Keep six of each rather than a mixed six, since Corydoras are bolder and more active among their own species. That calls for about 80 litres, soft sand and no coarse gravel, which damages the barbels and leads to infection. Both are facultative air breathers, so regular dashes to the surface are normal; a sharp increase in them is not. Feed sinking pellets or wafers with bloodworm and daphnia, and watch that the larger bronze does not take it all first.
